The Founding Whittle Scholars Program is our most selective scholarship for exceptional, high achieving students entering Grades 6 - 10.

The Founding Whittle Scholars Program

Each Founding Whittle Scholar will be named for global advisory members who are among the world’s most celebrated inventors, designers, scientists, athletes, artists, political leaders, and social advocates. Founding Whittle Scholars will have specific, clearly defined (“pointy”) academic and/or extracurricular talents that have been recognized far beyond the walls of their schools and their immediate communities.

Up to 10 Founding Whittle Scholars will receive scholarships that cover between 50-100% of tuition renewable annually provided the recipient remains in good academic and disciplinary standing.

Students wishing to be considered for the Founding Whittle Scholars Program should submit their application for admission and consideration to Whittle School & Studios by April 5 and are strongly encouraged to complete the “Share Your World” supplement of our application. The Inaugural D.C. Scholarship Program

Open to students entering Grades 4 - 10, recipients of the Inaugural D.C. Scholarship will have demonstrated good citizenship (kindness, helpfulness, and a caring nature); academic achievement and promise; as well as an inclination and interest to explore new areas (e.g. the arts, community service, athletics, robotics, chess, etc.) and share current ones.

Whittle School & Studios will award 20 Inaugural DC Scholarships, each in the amount up to $20,000, renewable annually for up to four years provided the recipient remains in good academic and disciplinary standing.

Students wishing to be considered for the Inaugural D.C. Scholarship Program should submit their application for admission and consideration to Whittle School & Studios by April 5 and are strongly encouraged to complete the “Share Your World” supplement of our application.

The D.C. Embassy Scholars Program

Embracing diversity and global connectedness is part of Whittle’s vision and what we take deep pride in. This special scholarship is open to children of employees from the 174 embassies in D.C. and who are entering Grades 4 - 10. Scholars are selected on the basis of academic achievement and promise; interest, understanding, and appreciation for global perspectives, issues, and challenges. Most importantly, we seek motivated students with a genuine fit for a Whittle education as demonstrated by intellectual curiosity and engagement.

Whittle School & Studios is pleased to announce 25 D.C. Embassy Scholarships, each in the amount of $20,000, renewable annually provided the recipient remains in good academic and disciplinary standing.
